Clinical Psychologists aim to understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. In order to offer a fuller understanding, we train in a range of therapeutic models, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic approaches. An average initial training, before specialization, takes around ten years.
Clinical Psychologists offer potential help in relation to difficulties such as: Anxiety, Attachment, Adjustment, Behavioural Problems, Bereavement, Depression, Emotional Distress, Family Dynamics, Personal Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Work related difficulties.
We work in partnership with our clients, agreeing therapeutic goals and timescales together. Our ethical code means that we are bound by confidentiality and cannot share information we are given by clients without their consent, unless a person is at risk.
